Who is ready for some Football? A new season means its time to tailgate! The Indianapolis Colts have partnered again with the Indiana Soybean Alliance to find the “Colts Tailgate of the Year.”
Indiana farm families are the original tailgaters, enjoy many a meal on the tailgate of their truck. Indiana is home to over 28,000 corn and soybean farms with an average size of 251 acres. An acre is about the size of a football field. About 97% of the farms in Indiana are family owned and have been passed down through multiple generations.
One tailgate will be selected to set up in The End Zone, a prime location next to Touchdown Town, at each regular season home game. Two finalists will be chosen to compete at the final regular season game to earn the title, “Colts Tailgate of the Year.”
Those tailgates will be judged on Colts Spirit, creativity, food quality and overall presentation. Tailgaters will need to incorporate items, such as bacon and cheese, produced on Indiana’s Farms.
Fans may submit applications at www.colts.com/tailgate. The Grand Prize winner will receive $1,000 in cash, a Colts Team Autographed item, a $500 Colts Pro Shop Gift Card and have their name placed on the Colts Tailgate of the Year Trophy. The Second Place Prize winner will receive a $300 Pro Shop gift card.
