#TransformationTuesday: Adam Vinatieri

As not many fans realize, Adam Vinatieri’s journey to the NFL was not conventional.  He was not invited to the NFL Combine, and he also was not drafted. Instead, #4 received his first professional tryout in 1995 for the World League of American Football, where he earned a spot on the Amsterdam Admirals roster as a placekicker and punter for his first professional year.

After one season in Europe, Vinatieri was picked up by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 1996.  He went on to win 4 SuperBowls (3 with the Patriots, 1 with the Colts) and his career continues as he enters his 22nd season as the oldest player in the NFL.
